Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications, data pipelines, and AI-enabled solutions using modern backend and data engineering technologies.

Rate Range: $56/hour to $57/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable applications, backend services, and data pipelines using Java, Scala, and Python.

  • Build and support RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and modern software engineering practices.

  • Develop and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT, batch, and stream data pipelines using Apache Spark, PySpark, and Scala.

  • Work with structured and unstructured data across databases, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms to deliver reliable data solutions.

  • Integrate AI and Generative AI capabilities, including LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and AI APIs, into applications and data workflows.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to deliver high-quality software solutions while supporting performance optimization, troubleshooting, and production support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, data engineering, and cloud-based application development.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Scala, Python, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Apache Spark/PySpark, and large-scale data pipeline development.

  • Experience integrating AI/Generative AI solutions, including LLMs, RAG, vector search, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Pay Details: $56.00 to $57.00 per hour
