Within the RMS SEMS portfolio we are seeking a motivated and experienced Software Engineer to support our team. The program enables the warfighter to utilize cutting edge technologies like Software Defined Radios (SDRs), high powered Radio Frequency (RF) Digital Signal Processing (DSP) hardware (HW), and modern DevSecOps to achieve their goals and dominate the RF spectrum.

In this important role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals in an Agile scrum development environment. The successful candidate will be flexible, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. They will be able to work and communicate with their scrum teams, but also program leadership and both internal and external customers.

WHO YOU ARE:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team that has:

  • Proficiency with development and integration using C++, Python, and Java
  • Experience working with Linux OS (emphasis on RHEL)
  • Experience working with Agile / Scrum methodology and tools
  • Knowledge of modern DevSecOps tools and practices
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and domains

Day-to-day activities include but not limited to:

  • Participating in daily scrums and bi-weekly sprint planning, release planning, and demonstrations
  • Working closely with system engineers and cybersecurity professionals to address system requirements and security considerations
  • Developing and integrating open and modular hardware and software components in the field of Radio Frequency (RF) systems

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Generally has 1+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (primarily C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript)
  • Experience with development in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of modern DevSecOps tools and practices, including Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment (Agile Scrum, Kanban), including tools such as Jira and Confluence

Desired Skills

  • Experienced in Radio Frequency (RF), Cyber Electronic Warfare (CEW), Software Defined Radio (SDR) Systems
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts, Electronic Support (ES), Electronic Attack (EA), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) processing chains, Spectrum management, Signal processing fundamentals, Timing and synchronization, Mission data management, Antenna systems, Data recording and playback
  • Working knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures / frameworks
  • Active Secret or TS

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
