About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is hiring an experienced Software Engineer for a leading healthcare technology and payment-integrity organization. Working with the development team, you will build and maintain a legacy claim auditing system, analyzing needs and the operating environment so that every solution fits the current architecture while supporting future functionality and enhancements. This role calls for a self-motivated engineer with deep SQL and database development skills.
What You'll Do:
- Build, enhance and maintain a legacy claim auditing system alongside the development team.
- Analyze business needs and the existing environment to design solutions that fit the current architecture and operating environment.
- Develop and optimize SQL, PL/SQL and T-SQL code, including queries, stored procedures and data logic.
- Work with Hadoop-based data and develop supporting components in Python and Java.
- Plan for future functionality and enhancements as part of solution design.
- Proactively take on tasks, assist colleagues and share ideas and information across the team.
- Handle confidential healthcare data with sensitivity and care.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in SQL, PL/SQL and T-SQL.
- Working experience with Hadoop.
- Development knowledge of Python and Java.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing existing (legacy) enterprise systems.
- Ability to analyze requirements and the current architecture to design maintainable solutions.
- Self-motivated, results-driven and passionate about continuous learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with healthcare claims, claim auditing or payment-integrity systems.
- Experience in large enterprise or regulated data environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
