You will work as a core member of a multidisciplinary engineering team alongside senior engineers, designers, and technologists - to build and deliver high-quality software that creates real impact for clients across industries.

You will contribute across the full stack, implementing features and fixes while pairing closely with teammates to sharpen your craft and adopt engineering best practices. Youll collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, developing a firsthand understanding of how great software teams operate.

Your work will help solve some of the most complex and high-impact challenges facing clients across industries. Collaborating across QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey and QuantumBlack Labs teams, youll help develop innovative software capabilities and scalable enterprise solutions. Youll help build robust technical foundations for production-ready, AI-enabled systems. Your contributions will directly support the firms ability to accelerate AI adoption, solve complex business problems at scale, and enable clients to achieve meaningful, lasting impact.

Youll be based in one of our North America offices as part of our global Software Engineering community. Working in cross-functional teams, youll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and industry experts to deliver software solutions. By partnering with clients from technical teams to C-level executives, youll help solve complex problems that drive tangible business value and begin to build your skills as a client-facing technologist.

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, youll gain a holistic understanding of how software engineering enables advanced AI while collaborating with some of the leading technologists and AI practitioners in the industry.

• Upcoming graduation between December 2026 and August 2027 from a bachelors or masters, program in a computer science related field
• Experience developing full-stack applications, writing code that is readable, testable, and maintainable
• Hands-on experience across the application stack in one or more of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Next.js, Vue.js, Java, Spring, C#, Node.js; SQL or NoSQL databases; cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Docker, CircleCI, or similar)
• Proficiency in AI-assisted development workflows, with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable tasks for AI agents and seamlessly integrate their outputs into production
• A security mindset - able to write secure code with guidance and apply basic security best practices, with foundational knowledge of cybersecurity governance and the ability to assist in writing unit tests using frameworks such as Jest or PyTest
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with developers and cross-functional teammates
• Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and local office language(s), with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
