Payrate: $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
Summary:We are seeking a software engineer to contribute to the development and evaluation of Computer Use Agents (CUA) — models trained to operate real software and perform computer-based tasks like a skilled engineer. The role involves managing complex, long-term technical workflows from implementation to validation, documentation, and follow-through. You will design and maintain tasks, benchmarks, and test suites to assess CUA capability as models, APIs, and infrastructure evolve. A high standard for code quality, familiarity with deployment strategies like canary releases and rollbacks, and a strong sense of risk management are essential. Proficiency in AI coding assistants and languages such as Rust, Python, or TypeScript is required. Strong debugging and experimental discipline is crucial to investigate discrepancies and derive reproducible conclusions.
Responsibilities- Build and evaluate CUA models to perform computer-based tasks.
- Manage complex technical workflows end-to-end, including implementation, validation, documentation, and follow-through.
- Design and maintain tasks, benchmarks, and test suites to measure CUA capability.
- Ensure high code quality with a focus on writing tests and deploying strategies.
- Provide and receive direct feedback on code implementations.
- Utilize AI coding assistants and maintain best practices for their use.
- Debug and experiment to investigate discrepancies and derive reproducible conclusions.
Qualifications- Passionate about coding with a drive to dive deep into technology.
- Extremely high standards for code quality and familiarity with deployment strategies.
- Proficient in one or more of the following languages: Rust, Python, or TypeScript.
- A sharp eye for identifying weak code implementations and providing direct feedback.
- Strong debugging and experimental discipline.
- Comfortable owning complex, long-running technical workflows end-to-end.
Skills- Familiarity with at least one AI coding assistant (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor).
- Experience in server-side or infrastructure development, building highly available and stable systems.
- Exceptional communication skills for engaging with diverse teams and translating complex technical concepts.
- Experience with ML evaluation, distributed systems, developer infrastructure, or large-scale testing.
- Experience maintaining benchmarks or test suites as models, APIs, and infrastructure evolve.
- Ownership of open-source projects, regardless of GitHub star count.
