Our existing customer basespans the traditional areas of portable optical spectroscopy to the newlydeveloped portable mass spec technology.We aim to revolutionize the utility and applications of mass spectrometryin practical sectors of food safety, agriculture, forensics, clinicalchemistry, security, defense, pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries.
Job Overview:
We are looking for apassionate individual with a background in scientific instrumentation who hastransitioned into software engineering. The successful candidate will have theopportunity to be involved with proof-of-concept design, product development, engineering,and production for a new generation of miniaturizedspectrometer instruments.This individual will play akey role in improving and expanding the functionality of our existing software,as well as developing custom AI/ML algorithms for spectral deconvolution andenhancement of detection capabilities for our mass spectrometers.
Responsibilities:
·Improve and expand the functionality of existingsoftware used in our mass spectrometer products.
·Collaborate with a small multidisciplinary team of scientistsand engineers to design and optimize software solutions for novel spectrometersincluding mass spectrometers.
·Software coding/development on controlling and drivinginstrument systems detector and control electronics.
·Develop and implement custom machine learning algorithms forspectral deconvolution and enhancement of detection capabilities.
·Provide technical support and troubleshooting forsoftware-related issues.
·Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuousimprovement of software development processes.
·Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML andtheir applications in spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
·Contributeto the design and architecture of next-generation software platforms and tools.
·Implementuser-friendly interfaces and features to enhance the usability of our software.
Requirements:
·Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences and Engineering fields or2-4 years software engineering experience with bachelor's degree in, includingbut not limited to Chemistry, Physics, Electronics & ElectricalEngineering, or other Engineering fields; MS or PhD preferred.
·Strong programming skills in languages such asPython, C++, or Java.
·Proven experience in developing algorithms fordata analysis and spectral processing.
·Must be a self-starter, critical thinker, and beenthusiastic about new product development, not just knowing software only. Comfortableworking in a culturally diverse environment
·Familiar with one or more of the following: basic physics andbasic electronics
·Experience with software development best practices,including agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
·Ability to adapt to a fast-moving company and dynamic workenvironment.
·Good communications skills in English, both oraland written for technical documentation and reporting of experimental results. Technicalpresentation skills a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Familiarity with mass spectrometry andspectroscopic techniques.
·Knowledgeof signal processing and image processing techniques.
