Actively engage with the IETF and other standards groups. Ensure certificate enrollment protocol stays current with existing standards and aligns with emerging ones.
Modernize the protocols accordingly, and implement Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) support for smart cards and hardware tokens.
Develop and deploy a modernized User Interface for the CLIENT Certificate System.
Execute deep-level engineering tasks in Java, Rust, and C, ensuring compatibility with RHEL and OpenShift environments.
Technical Requirements
The contractor must provide existing expertise in the following areas:
Language Proficiency: Advanced capability in Java and/or Rust (specifically for system-level modernization). Proficiency in Python
Security Standards: Deep understanding of PKI, certificate life cycles, and hardware-based authentication (Smart Cards/HSMs).
Infrastructure: Proficiency in Fedora, RHEL, OpenShift.
Emerging Tech: Familiarity with AI-assisted SDLC and PQC standards.
Nature of Engagement
Individual Contributor: This is a pure engineering role. There are no people management or formal mentoring requirements.
