Were seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join our Enterprise Protective Services Support and Development Team in Charlotte. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge Data Mart project, leveraging your expertise to shape enterprise-level data applications and drive impactful results.
In this role, you'll design and develop complex software solutions tailored to support enterprise protective services. Your deep understanding of the development lifecycle will enable you to translate intricate ideas into actionable user stories, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and ensure solutions meet all regulatory and security standards. If you're excited about working with PyFlink, Python, Docker (in Swarm mode), and possibly Kafka, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this position is your next career milestone.
Required Skills:
5-10 years of application development and support experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
Profound experience with PyFlink and Flink frameworks
Strong proficiency in Python programming
Experience with Docker, ideally running in Docker Swarm mode
Solid understanding of SQL and data integration architectures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Kafka experience
Knowledge of source code management tools and processes
Familiarity with highly regulated applications
Experience working with remote teams and enterprise data architectures
Interface and application integration expertise
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline
5-10 years of relevant application development experience, with a background in enterprise or regulated environments
Other Requirements:
Local applicants residing in Charlotte, as this is a hybrid/onsite position
Ability to work on multiple concurrent user stories, prioritize effectively, and adapt to evolving project demands
Knowledge of Duke standards, IT security, and compliance protocols
Willingness to engage in knowledge sharing and support team development efforts
