IDR is seeking a Software Engineer II to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will build, refine, and maintain automation tools and integrations that streamline production and content/set development workflows for a fast-paced, product-focused organization in the interactive entertainment industry. Youll partner closely with production, design, and engineering stakeholders to identify friction points and deliver reliable systems that reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency.
Position Overview for the Software Engineer II:
- Build and support workflow automations and tooling that improves reliability and reduces manual effort across cross-functional teams
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party APIs (e.g., collaboration and productivity platforms) to connect systems and streamline processes
- Refactor and harden existing prototypes into robust, maintainable tools that can be used long-term
- Partner with non-engineering stakeholders to understand workflows, scope solutions end-to-end, and deliver iterative improvements
Requirements for the Software Engineer II:
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., C#, Java, Python, Go, or similar)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern delivery practices (CI/CD, infrastructure ownership/operations)
- Proven experience integrating with third-party APIs and building/maintaining automation workflows in a production context
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while balancing multiple concurrent requests in a fast-moving environment
