Position Overview

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and documenting software for the next generation of Neuromodulation software products. You will work as part of a team to realize complex, innovative, high-reliability systems that improve the quality of life for people around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test web applications in a global cloud infrastructure as a service environment.
  • Develop and verify software products in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with agile teams across multiple sites.
  • Create and document all aspects of the software engineering processes, incorporating the highest quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and measurable efficiency.
  • Support the test automation strategy and implementation.
  • Meet all project milestones and deliverables as required by project leadership.
  • Provide concise, timely, and accurate reports and status of all development and test activities.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement activities.
  • Stay informed about technical and industry trends related to software design and development.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Strong working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Kotlin.
  • Coding experience through school projects, internships, or work experience.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Design, layered architecture, MVC, Design Patterns.
  • Knowledgeable in several web frameworks – Spring, JPA, Hibernate, Angular, RxJS.
  • Understanding of messaging and streaming solutions like ActiveMQ, Amazon SQS, and Kafka.
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering and multitenant/multi-user paradigms.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Designing, developing, testing, debugging, and implementing operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.
  • Determining systems software design requirements and ensuring successful implementation and monitoring to increase efficiency.
  • Generating systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.

This position offers autonomy and the chance to work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. It involves setting objectives to meet project milestones and contributing to cross-functional assignments. The role requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within the job area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
