Software Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Houston, TX.

Overview: We are seeking a Senior Application Developer/Technical Lead to join a highly collaborative, hands-on team where everyone contributes across the full lifecycle of application delivery. This individual will serve as a key technical partner and right-hand resource to leadership, acting as a go-to for complex technical challenges, system design, and solutioning.

This is not a heads-down development role-this person will be expected to wear multiple hats, contribute strategically, and work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities: Support applications across the full lifecycle:

• Intake issues (tickets, user questions, production support)
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs
• Design and implement enhancements
• Build and deploy new functionality

Work directly with vendor-supported applications:

• Log and manage issues with vendors
• Partner with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve defects

Act as a technical advisor and problem solver for the team:

• Research issues and propose scalable solutions
• Challenge assumptions to ensure the best path forward
• Design and architect custom-built applications and systems from scratch
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and long-term design strategy
• Actively contribute to development efforts as needed

Build, enhance, and maintain applications using:

• C#/.NET (object-oriented programming)
• SQL/database development
