About the Role
Join the innovative BrightIQ Stargate team as a Software Engineer specializing in TypeScript and REST API development. In this dynamic, development-focused role, you'll play a pivotal part in building and optimizing API platforms for billing, monetization, and developer experience. You'll also contribute to DevOps initiatives, collaborating with a talented team that completes dozens of impactful projects annually. This is an opportunity for engineers ready to step into senior-level responsibilities and eager to influence both the technical landscape and team culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of scalable APIs and backend services using TypeScript and modern frameworks
- Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and serverless resources
- Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar) to deliver high-quality software quickly and reliably
- Automate deployment, infrastructure provisioning, and system configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting tools
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker containerized applications for reliable, scalable operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to establish DevOps best practices and improve developer experience
- Troubleshoot, monitor, and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and performance
- Participate in design reviews and provide DevOps insight for technical architecture and system documentation
- Support full stack development efforts using TypeScript and Python when needed
- Develop and integrate automated testing frameworks (Playwright or similar)
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience (strong candidates with 4+ years will be considered)
- Expertise in TypeScript development and REST API design/integration
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure management
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipeline design and management
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS for containerized deployments
- Ability to work autonomously, communicate proactively, and drive projects forward
- Experience with Git for version control
Preferred Skills
- Python development experience
- Familiarity with Playwright or similar automated testing frameworks
- Additional DevOps automation and scripting skills
