Software Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to develop embedded and application-level software for high-performance thermal control systems used in the datacenter industry. The ideal candidate brings strong Python, JavaScript, Linux, and other systems-level programming experience with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. 

The role will include

·         Working with multi-discipline team to develop thermal control products involving a diverse set of control algorithms and hardware

·         Full lifecycle development and support of custom thermal control application software

·         Supporting proof-of-concept studies

·         Maintenance and enhancement of software on existing thermal products

·         Software development using Python, JavaScript, C#, or other high-level languages for application/driver deployment on Linux and Windows systems.

·         User Interface programming using Qt, Visual C, or similar toolsets

Basic (required) Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field and 5+ years of related experience.

·         4+ years experience in software development using higher programming languages

·         Candidates must reside within a 60 mile radius of Fredericksburg VA to be considered, relocation is currently not offered. Active duty military are exempt.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience using and configuring Docker or similar containerizing platforms for Linux

·         Experience with MODBUS, BACnet, or other Fieldbus protocols

·         Experience in high reliability coding practices used in industrial, automotive, or aerospace industries
