Software Engineer - CAD/ CAE

Introduction

We are seeking a software engineer to work on in-house developed applications in the CAD/CAE domain. The role involves using object-oriented programming concepts, Java/Angular programming, and automation testing to develop and maintain software solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of experience utilizing Java full stack to design scalable web applications by leveraging microservices architecture and APIGEE / RESTful APIs.
• 3 years of experience utilizing Angular to create user-friendly front-end interfaces and enable real-time data updates.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL/Oracle databases or PostgreSQL.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) development and deployment experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in functional, integration, and regression testing both manually and automatically.
• Familiarity with GitHub or equivalent source control repositories.
• Experience with test-driven development practices.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative when facing unexpected problems.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with KAFKA, Testing Methodologies, Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems.
• Experience in Agile development and Jira.
• Well-versed in design principles such as OOP.
• Experience in AI Development.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, advocating for user-centric software solutions.
• Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Create high-level software architecture designs outlining the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like product owners, designers, and architects.
• Define and implement software test strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes.
• Continuously improve performance and optimize the application, implementing new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
• Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages.
