Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 4 to support the development and modernization of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Purview solutions. This role will focus on evaluating legacy enterprise content management systems, developing migration strategies, designing records management workflows, and building scalable solutions that meet business and technical requirements. The engineer will collaborate with architects, product owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders while contributing technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate legacy Enterprise Content Management systems and determine appropriate migration strategies to Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Microsoft SharePoint solutions for documentation storage and records management.
  • Apply strong knowledge of SharePoint architecture, design, workflows, and records management.
  • Configure retention policies based on business requirements.
  • Design and build records management workflows.
  • Develop software estimates, schedules, priorities, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to define requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance system architecture using software development and test-driven development practices.
  • Develop and optimize solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Apply DevOps best practices, source-code branching and merging, and system integration practices.
  • Implement and upgrade platform infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and architecture teams on cloud-based solutions.
  • Establish development and documentation standards.
  • Conduct peer reviews and ensure compliance with development standards.
  • Identify project challenges and coordinate expectations across project teams.
  • Manage customer relationships and communicate project requirements and expectations professionally.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies and ceremonies.
  • Design and implement APIs and modern technology architectures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical programming experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in web-based IT solutions.
  • Experience with Java and/or web programming technologies.
  • Experience with relational database development and SQL.
  • Experience with development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, including branching and merging.
  • Experience managing source-code conflicts and releases.
  • Object-oriented programming experience.
  • Experience managing project schedules, tasks, resources, and timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple priorities independently.
  • Expert experience designing and implementing APIs and modern technology architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Java Developer certification.
  • Oracle or DB2 certification.
  • Experience with Oracle AEM integrations.
  • Experience with Oracle Visual Builder.
  • Web-team leadership experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, team progress, resources, and priorities.
  • Leadership and peer developer mentoring experience.
  • User interface development experience.
  • Experience with responsive web design.
  • Knowledge of OWASP and web application vulnerabilities.
  • Experience configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with SVN or Git and build/deployment tools such as Maven, Jenkins, or Gradle.
  • Strong troubleshooting and real-world systems deployment experience.
