Senior Mobile Software Engineer (Core) — Native iOS or Android (Contract)
Help build and evolve mobile experiences that solve real user problems at scale. In this senior, hands-on role, you’ll work end-to-end—from understanding customer needs to shaping mobile architecture and delivering high-quality native features—while collaborating with product, design, and architecture partners.
Overview
Seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software that meets customer needs. This is a contract role based in Dearborn, MI with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite Monday–Thursday) starting day one.
What you’ll do
- Translate user needs and pain points into practical, user-centered mobile solutions
- Design and implement native mobile features with strong engineering fundamentals
- Make and drive key architecture decisions (modularity, state management, navigation)
- Partner with cross-functional teams (product owners, designers, architects) to deliver outcomes
- Define and implement testing approaches, quality guidelines, and delivery practices
- Integrate with back-end services (APIs, microservices) and support end-to-end delivery
- Improve performance, reliability, and developer efficiency through continuous improvement
- Apply security practices to protect user data (including encryption/anonymization)
- Evaluate emerging tools/technologies that strengthen the mobile stack
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years in IT and 8+ years in software development
- 6+ years of hands-on native mobile development in Swift (iOS)orKotlin (Android)
- 3+ years of mobile front-end architecture experience (modular design, state management, navigation)
- Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development and CI/CD
- Ability to work onsite Monday–Thursday in Dearborn, MI (hybrid schedule) from day one
Nice-to-have
- Experience optimizing mobile performance and implementing secure-by-design approaches
- Comfort collaborating across teams to align architecture, delivery, and user experience
