Position Title: Software Engineer (3) - Core Engineer 2
Duration: 6 months plus extensions
Location Address: 770 Palladium Drive,KANATA,ON,K2V 1C6
Position Description: The Ford BSP and Driver Development Team is seeking a skilled embedded software developer experienced in BSPs and secure bootloaders. The projects the candidate will work on include infotainment, connectivity, and other HW modules in the next generation of FORD vehicles. Skills Required: Linux, C 1. Linux ¿ understand OS/Kernel internals including memory mapping, file system, device tree, experience in device driver design/implementation, etc. 2. C: extensive low level C programming/debugging experience (assembly is a plus) Skills Preferred: N/A Experience Required: - 8+ years¿ experience in the design and development of BSP (Linux/QNX) and bootloaders - Proven C and assembly language experience - Must have experience completing at least 2 board bring-ups - Capable of reading electronic schematics - Knowledge of embedded OS (Linux, QNX) - Skilled in using debugging tools like JTAG and the oscilloscope/logic analyzer - Driver development experience (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN/CAN FD, etc.) - Excellent problem-solving and intuitive debugging skills. - Detailed knowledge of ARM processors (A series, M series) - Understanding of SHE (Secure Hardware Extension) specification - Experience with Hardware Security Module (HSM) or other SHE-based hardware security modules - Understanding of various cryptographic algorithms (RSA, DES, AES, SHA-1, etc.) - Experience with eMMC - Experience with NAND, NOR memory controllers - Designed and implemented a custom bootloader - Experience with version control tools (e.g. SVN, Git) Experience Preferred: 0 Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Education Preferred: Additional Safety Training/Licensing/Personal Protection Requirements: Additional Information : FULLY ONSITE Responsibilities for Candidates - Design and implement BSP/bootloader features as part of a larger team-based software project - Design and implement secure boot features - Create software design documents - Participate in design reviews - Assist with product verification and validation, troubleshooting and testing - Communicate problems early to team members and offer solutions
