The AWS Networking team develops and operates the network platform for all of Amazon including e-commerce products and cloud computing solutions.     At ML-Navigator team we are responsible for Machine Learning network automated support.

    We are intensively focused in building mechanisms and automation to enable our operations to Zero Touch (ZT) scale/plan/operate our network across all the core networking space.

    ML-Navigators takes care of all aspects related to Machine Learning network support. In the team you"ll find diverse skill-sets, knowledge and experience. We are proud to have information circulate, exchange, confront and be discussed. It"s an extremely dynamic environment where you decide the scope of your influence. Network engineers work along with system and software engineers to provide the tooling and the systems to help automate the end to end lifecycle of network devices. We work with other teams that provide infrastructure platform in order do improve them or to find new and more efficient ways of interacting with them.

    Key job responsibilities

    In this role, you will be part of a two-pizza team in an org of 100+ engineers. As a software development engineer, you will:

    • Help establish technical direction, foster team culture, grow junior engineers and deliver exciting features to internal and external customers.
    • Take end to end ownership of the software development life cycle. This includes design, testing, deployment and operating
    • Be very hands-on; work with the engineering team to manage the day-to-day development activities by leading architecture decisions, participating in designs, design review, code review, and implementation
    • Champion operational, technical and process improvements
    • Work with your manager and other engineers in delivering to the roadmap
    • Interact with customers to respond to queries, issues, and complaints

    The technical skills that will make you successful:

    • One or more programming languages such as: Python, Java, Rust, Go, etc.
    • System design
    • Network fundamentals
    • Collaborate with other engineers towards broader organizational goals and projects
    • Collaborate with product and program managers, principal engineers for feature definition and delivery
    • Work with other AWS teams to build innovative solutions that create value for our customers, supporting them in their network deployment activities
    • Contribute to technical designs.
