    Description

    Are you passionate about building highly scalable distributed systems that protect millions of customers? Do you want to work at the intersection of big data, real-time intelligence, and fraud prevention? The AWS Payments & Fraud Prevention team is looking for a talented SDE to help us stay one step ahead of bad actors.

    You"ll design and build systems that process millions of events per second, develop machine learning-powered detection pipelines, and directly contribute to keeping AWS safe. Whether it"s architecting a new real-time detection engine, optimizing our graph-based fraud network analysis, or hardening our registration fraud defenses - your work will have immediate, measurable impact at AWS scale.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Design, implement, and operate highly scalable distributed systems that process millions of events per second with low-latency requirements.
    • Build real-time fraud detection pipelines using Apache Flink for stream processing, aggregations, and anomaly detection.
    • Develop graph-based intelligence solutions on AWS Neptune to uncover hidden relationships and identify fraud rings.
    • Write high-quality, production-ready code for services that must be available 24/7 with zero tolerance for downtime.
    • Own the full lifecycle of your solutions - from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.
    • Collaborate with applied scientists to integrate machine learning models into real-time decisioning systems.
    • Work in a fast-paced, agile environment where you"re solving complex problems with direct, measurable impact on AWS security.
    • Learn from others, mentor teammates, and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Our stack includes Apache Flink for stream processing, AWS Neptune for graph-based intelligence, and machine learning models for adaptive detection.
