In this role, the candidate will bring structure and innovation together by building and maintaining configuration management processes while developing intuitive, high-performance web applications that transform complex meteorological data into clear, interactive experiences in a remote work environment. The candidate will design responsive user interfaces, create geospatial visualizations, and connect frontend and backend systems through RESTful and GraphQL APIs, all while optimizing performance across devices and ensuring accessibility and reliability through testing. Working closely with designers and leveraging cloud services from Amazon Web Services, success in this position looks like delivering scalable, user-centered solutions that make sophisticated weather data easy to understand and use.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Develop and maintain CM processes, plan, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other documents
• Architect and implement responsive, intuitive user interfaces for complex meteorological data visualization
• Develop interactive mapping components and geospatial data rendering capabilities for weather data
• Create high-performance visualization tools for meteorological datasets (radar, satellite imagery, model data)
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL services to connect frontend with backend data services
• Optimize web applications for performance across various devices and network conditions
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-centered design principles for meteorological applications
• Implement automated testing strategies for frontend applications (unit tests, integration tests, E2E tests)
• Integrate with AWS services (CloudFront, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.) to create scalable frontend solutions
• Ensure accessibility compliance and cross-browser compatibility
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 8+ years of full-stack development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with frontend build tools and module bundlers (Webpack, Rollup, etc.)
• Knowledge of state management solutions (Redux, Mobx, Context API)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services for web application hosting

• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Work Environment

• This work is normally completed in a remote environment.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
