Job Title: Structural Engineer Software Development
Location: Centennial, CO Hybrid
Pay Rate: $50-70/hr

Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Structural Engineer / Engineering Software Developer for a Fortune 500 company serving the wood construction industry, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in structural engineering and software development looking to further their career in engineering software.
Define business and engineering requirements for new structural engineering software functionality
Interpret and implement provisions from IBC, ASCE 7, NDS, NBCC, CSA O86, and related standards in software
Develop and document structural methodologies and engineering calculations that validate software results
Design, develop, and refactor engineering functionality in existing platforms; resolve defects
Lead and participate in code reviews
Perform manual, exploratory, and regression testing; maintain test cases; track defects to resolution
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Development to translate requirements into solutions
Essential Qualifications
Experience in structural engineering and/or software development (years: [confirm])
BS in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Ability to interpret building codes and standards
Ability to develop engineering functionality within software toolsets; CAD experience
Strong math foundation: algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable with ambiguity, evolving requirements
Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote, fast-paced environment
Bonus Qualifications
Wood products, building products, or construction industry experience
PE license or actively pursuing licensure
Agile/SDLC; Visual Studio, C#, VB.NET, SQL, Azure DevOps
Automated testing tools (UFT, FitNesse, Selenium)
Structural engineering software experience; AI coding assistant experience
