Join Schwab's Online Security Technology organization and help shape the secure digital experiences our clients rely on every day. In this role, you will design and deliver next-generation credential creation, access recovery, identity verification, and passkey capabilities across web and mobile experiences, helping strengthen trust, security, and usability across multiple lines of business. You'll work closely with product owners, engineers, and cross-functional partners to solve complex problems, translate priorities into scalable solutions, and deliver high-quality software that supports both innovation and production stability. This is a fast-paced environment where strong technical judgment, adaptability, and collaboration matter, and where modern engineering practices and emerging AI-enabled development approaches can help accelerate impact over time.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience designing and building secure software applications using Java, Angular, and .NET
  • Experience working with REST APIs, token-based authentication, and secure interface design
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Experience debugging and resolving issues in cloud-based environments, including GCP and PCF
  • Experience delivering software in Agile environments and translating roadmaps, epics, and backlogs into tested, high-quality solutions
  • Ability to apply software design principles, engineering standards, and rigorous testing practices to build, verify, and improve software components
  • Ability to independently support incident response, troubleshoot production issues, and partner across teams to maintain solution stability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with identity and security technologies such as OAuth 2.0, passkeys, encryption, signing algorithms, and fraud or attack-pattern awareness
  • Familiarity with emerging AI-assisted development approaches and the ability to apply them thoughtfully to improve delivery and engineering outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options, make sound technical decisions, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and partner teams
  • Curiosity for industry trends, continuous improvement, and new approaches that strengthen security, developer productivity, and client experience

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
