Licensed Master Social Worker-PRN Behavioral & Mental Healthcare-Danbury Hospital (60 Miles from NYC)

Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, is seeking a per diem, experienced Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) working in an outpatient setting in Danbury, Connecticut. The LCSW will provide clinical services to emotionally ill individuals, collaborating with psychiatric and other health professionals for the purpose of quality treatment. Danbury is located one hour outside of New York City in suburban Fairfield County. We offer a highly competitive compensation package including base salary.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates and assists full time Licensed Master Social Worker in running and documenting groups for Intensive Outpatient level of care

  • Provides coverage for full time Licensed Master Social Worker during vacation or illness

  • Provides individual, family, group therapy, crisis intervention and psychoeducation

  • Evaluates for child, elder abuse, domestic violence and makes appropriate referrals

  • Acts as a consultant and/or educator to staff relative to assessment, criteria & referral

  • Maintains resume information and refers patients & families to agencies for supportive services & concrete resources (financial assistance; housing; transportation; medications) on regular & emergency basis

  • Mentors and acts as consultant to peers, staff & community

  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position

Qualifications:

  • Master''s degree in Social Work from an accredited school

  • Minimum of 2 year experience

  • Current CT Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900+ physician and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns with scenic New England landscapes, the area offers a variety of excellent housing and school options. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train and car.
