    Are you a Master of Social Work (MSW) looking for a meaningful career where you can gain hands-on clinical experience while making a lasting impact? Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. (TBCHS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team in a school-based health setting.

    Working alongside experienced behavioral health professionals, primary care providers, and school staff, you'll have the opportunity to provide evidence-based mental health services, develop your clinical skills, and help children and adolescents thrive.

    What You'll Do

    As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will work under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Field Supervisor, Behavioral Health Director, and your University Field Instructor while:

    • Conducting behavioral health assessments and assisting with treatment planning.
    • Providing evidence-based individual and group counseling for students and families within your scope of practice.
    • Collaborating with primary care providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support whole-person health.
    • Developing and monitoring individualized behavior change plans.
    • Preparing psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
    • Identifying at-risk patients and assisting with referrals to community mental health resources.
    • Participating in school meetings, IEPs, and collaborative care planning.
    • Providing classroom education, outreach presentations, and wellness activities.
    • Building relationships with schools, families, and community partners.
    • Participating in workshops, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.

    What We're Looking For

    • Michigan Master of Social Work (MSW)
    • Passion for working with children, adolescents, and families.
    • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based patient care.

    Requirements

    • MSW degree
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire).
    • Valid State of Michigan driver's license.
    • Ability to perform light physical activity and travel as needed.
