    Position Summary

Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Social Work faculty position in the Department of Psychology, Social Work, and Recreational Therapy, beginning in Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester across the BSSW and MSW programs. Assigned courses will include a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses, with undergraduate courses delivered largely in person and graduate courses delivered fully online. The primary instructional need is in clinical social work practice, although teaching assignments will be based on departmental and program needs. The successful candidate will also maintain an active program of scholarship, advise and mentor students, engage in service activities, attend meetings, and participate in the ongoing work of the department, college, university, and profession.

The Social Work Program is housed within the Department of Psychology, Social Work, and Recreational Therapy in the College of Health Professions. The program offers both undergraduate and graduate social work education through its largely in-person BSSW program and fully online MSW program. Faculty members contribute to a collaborative, interdisciplinary department and support the education and professional development of students preparing for social work practice.
