Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in challenging or high-stress situations.
Familiarity with de-escalation strategies, PBIS frameworks, or trauma-informed practices is preferred.
Ability to build rapport easily with students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or coursework in human services, education, or child development preferred.
Prior experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting, youth program, or community setting is required.

Working under the direct supervision and guidance of the Building Principal and School Social Worker, the Social Work Assistant extends and reinforces school-wide social-emotional, behavioral, and climate initiatives. The Social Work Assistant focuses on proactive student engagement, positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), active supervision, and maintaining a healthy educational environment across all non-classroom settings.
