    Schedule/Hours: M-F, 9:00AM -3:30PM

    This position is responsible for:

    Provides social service assistance to eligible clients in the areas of food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance; interviews clients to determine need and eligibility to receive services; prepares accurate and complete client records; refers clients to community agencies and maintains effective working relationships with the same; ensures compliance with program policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Greets and interviews clients requesting assistance, determines eligibility based on program guidelines and restrictions, and assists clients with completing required applications and documentation.

    • Prepares and processes food, clothing, furniture, rent, utility, and other approved assistance for eligible clients, including coordination with landlords, utility providers, and other resources.

    • Provides food pantry assistance; receives and stocks donated pantry items; and maintains accurate pantry disbursement and inventory records.

    • Serves as a liaison with community agencies to obtain and coordinate assistance on behalf of clients and maintains effective professional working relationships.

    • Prepares, files, reviews, and maintains accurate and confidential client records, service statistics, and monthly statistical reports in a timely manner.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    • Ability to meet attendance requirements.

    • Duties are usually performed seated, with brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.

    • Limited physical effort is required for walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects weighing less than 25 lbs., approximately 5-10% of work time.

    • Work is performed in a normal office environment with little or no physical discomfort associated with weather changes, noise, dust, dirt, or similar conditions.

    Employee Benefits:

    Paid Time Off

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, with additional secretarial courses preferred; AND

    • Two (2) years of experience performing clerical work in an office environment; OR

    • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • Valid State Driver's License
