    Woodlawn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center offers specialized professional levels of care and support for our residents including Short-Stay Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing Care, and Long Term Care.  Our services are delivered by an experienced, thoughtful, and professional staff who follow evidenced based and clinical best practices to help promote health, safety, and a commitment to providing the highest level of care.  Under the ownership of First Atlantic Healthcare, Woodlawn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center follows in First Atlantic's long standing reputation for excellence in Long Term Care.


    $5,000 sign on bonus

    32 hours per week

    $28.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience

    Lead Our Social Services Team and Make a Difference: Social Services Director

    Are you an experienced, compassionate social work leader ready to guide our department and ensure the highest standards of emotional and social care for our residents? As a key part of our strong care and leadership teams, the primary purpose of our Social Services Director is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the facility’s Social Services department. Reporting directly to the facility Executive Director/Administrator, you will utilize your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and ensure residents' needs are met on an individual basis.     About the Role

    As our Social Services Director, you will oversee department operations, budget management, staff staffing levels, and regulatory compliance. You will lead the development and implementation of policies identifying medically related social and emotional needs, guide financial assistance and discharge planning, and provide direct coaching, mentoring, and performance management to your staff.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Social Services & Resident Care: Developing and implementing policies for social/emotional care; meeting with administration, medical, and nursing staff; obtaining community resources; providing solutions for environmental and financial challenges (including Medicare/Medicaid); overseeing discharge planning; and orienting new residents to the long-term care environment.


    • Department Leadership & Administration: Managing the efficiency, staffing, and budget of the Social Services department; interviewing, hiring, and onboarding staff; providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management; and ensuring full compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws.


    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Education: Working with consultants and committees; leading and attending monthly in-service education programs; participating in department supervisor meetings and budget planning; and educating the community regarding aging and resident rights.


    • Compliance & Safety: Overseeing required reporting and accounts receivable documentation support; maintaining strict confidentiality; protecting residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse; complying with Resident Rights; and reporting any compliance concerns.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education & Licensure: Degree in Social Work (BSW) and a current Licensed Social Worker (LSW) within the State of Maine.


    • Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity within a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with a strong understanding of the needs of SNF/NF/Assisted Living residents.


    • Core Competencies: Excellent leadership skills; strong assessment, listening, and counseling abilities; highly organized and detailed work performance; and exceptional documentation skills.
