Job Summary

The Social Media Specialist will shape and grow College of Eastern Idaho Workforce Training presence across social media platforms. This creative role is key to telling CEI's story, engaging the community, and making higher education feel more accessible and exciting. As a part-time position, it works closely with the Associate Director of Communications, CEIs social media specialist, and creative marketing team to plan, create, and manage content that promotes CEI's mission, programs, and student life in fresh and compelling ways.

Typical Job Functions

  • Develop, implement, and manage CEI Workforce Training social media strategy
  • Plan, create, and publish content for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Edit short-form video content for platforms (experience with tools like Edits and CapCut is a plus)
  • Monitor and engage with followers, building meaningful connections and conversations
  • Stay informed on trends, tools, and best practices in social media and digital communication
  • Track and report analytics to help evaluate success and inform future strategy
  • Ensure all content aligns with CEI's brand standards and visual identity
  • Promote engagement through news, trends, events and timely content while following platform guidelines and CEI policies
  • Support additional marketing and communications tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, engagement best practices, and content guidelines
  • Confident using digital tools like Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media apps
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to confidently engage with students and film content on campus
  • Willingness to attend off-campus events where CEI Workforce Training is represented to capture content and promote engagement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
  • Self-starter with creative energy, curiosity, and a can-do attitude
  • Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn't sponsor Visas)

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in related field
  • Photography and graphic design skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.

On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
