REPORTS TO VP of Marketing & Communications

United Way of Greenville county is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator who will shape how people across Greenville County see, understand and connect with United Way. They will set the tone of our digital voice, create content across every channel and keep a full slate of campaigns moving. You'll write it, design it, shoot it, publish it and measure it. When something doesn't work, you'll be the one who figures out why.

This role spans everything we do, from signature events and workplace giving to direct services, volunteerism and two hosted initiatives. Being able to move between audiences, priorities and platforms in a single day is essential.

    DIRECT SERVICES

211, Ride United and VITA. Making sure people know where to turn and how to get help.

    HOSTED INITIATIVES

Greenville Together and OnTrack Greenville. Each has its own brand, website and audience.

    GRANT FUNDING

Elevating the nonprofits we fund and the work we do together.

Inspiring people to give their time and celebrating them when they do.

    AFFINITY GROUPS

Women United, Young Professionals and AAL. Growing and engaging our giving networks.

    SIGNATURE EVENTS

Hands On Greenville Day, School Tools, Gratefull GVL and Project Joy. Each one has its own audience, sponsors and identity.

    WHAT YOU'LL OWN

    Digital strategy and social media

Develop and carry out a social media strategy for United Way of Greenville County and our hosted initiatives.

Plan content calendars that line up with organizational priorities, campaigns and seasonal moments.

Create platform-native content (short-form video, photography, carousels, stories and live coverage) that people want to watch and share.

Grow reach and engagement by testing new formats, platforms and ideas, and keep what works.

Manage the conversation online with care, good judgment and a consistent voice.

    Storytelling and content creation

Write across every format: blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, web copy, scripts, captions and print copy.

Find and tell stories from the people we serve, volunteers, donors, employers and the nonprofits we fund.

Translate complex issues like financial stability, housing and education into clear, human language.

Adapt one story for many audiences and channels without losing what makes it matter.

    Listening and engagement

Build two-way conversations with our audiences instead of broadcasting at them.

Bring the voices of the people we serve into our storytelling.

Give and receive specific feedback, and use it to raise the quality of every piece.

    Design and web

Create on-brand graphics, flyers and digital assets in Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.

Build and maintain web content in WordPress and Elementor, blogs, landing pages and forms.

Make sure everything we publish works well and looks right on every device.

    Project management

Manage multiple campaigns at once, from planning and production to launch and recap.

Build and improve the workflows the team uses to take in, prioritize and deliver requests.

Coordinate across departments, vendors and creative contributors to keep work on time and on brand.

Keep files, photos and brand assets organized and easy to find.

    Troubleshooting and process

Be the go-to problem solver for digital tools, platforms, websites and workflows.

Find the root cause and fix it or route it to the right person. Then document the solution.

Spot recurring problems and recommend better ways of working.

    Measurement

Set goals for our digital channels and track progress against them.

Report regularly on what's working, what isn't and what comes next.

Use data and audience insight to make smarter content decisions.
