WPP Unite is WPP's integrated agency team dedicated to supporting Unilever across media, retail marketing and connected commerce. Working in close partnership with Unilever, WPP Unite brings together specialist capabilities and talent to help drive more connected planning, activation and performance across the business.
The Integrated Demand Office is designed to evolve Unilever's Walmart partnership from traditional executional support into a fully integrated growth system connecting planning, content, supply chain and performance in real time. These roles will be recruited and employed by WPP Unite and embedded within Unilever's team, working closely with Unilever, Walmart and WPP Unite stakeholders to support connected planning, demand-to-supply integration, agile activation and continuous performance optimization.
About the Role
The Social Listening & Content Specialist will serve as the cultural and shopper-trend radar for the Integrated Demand Office. This individual will monitor social conversations, emerging behaviors and category signals to identify opportunities for Unilever brands to respond quickly and relevantly within the Walmart ecosystem.
The role will also help coordinate brand and creator content, connecting cultural insights to media, Walmart.com and retail marketing opportunities that can influence shopper engagement and conversion.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing social listening to identify emerging cultural, category and shopper trends.
- Translate social and cultural signals into clear, actionable opportunities for Walmart media, digital commerce and retail marketing.
- Monitor shopper sentiment and identify changes in category conversations or behaviors.
- Escalate relevant trends and activation opportunities to the Integrated Demand Office for rapid assessment.
- Manage brand and creator content pipelines to support timely delivery of relevant assets.
- Coordinate with brand, creative, media and digital commerce teams to identify existing content that can be adapted or activated.
- Support the planning and execution of Walmart-specific social and creator-content initiatives.
- Ensure content is appropriate for use across relevant paid, owned and retailer channels.
- Monitor content performance and use engagement data to recommend creative, messaging or placement optimizations.
- Partner with digital content stakeholders to ensure consistency across the shopper journey.
- Contribute cultural and content insights to team stand-ups, planning meetings and agile commerce sprints.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in social listening, social media management, digital content strategy, influencer marketing or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience using social listening, trend-monitoring or audience-insight platforms.
- Strong understanding of social commerce, creator content and emerging cultural trends.
- Experience coordinating brand, social or influencer content programs.
- Ability to translate cultural observations into specific commercial or marketing actions.
- Familiarity with retail media and digital commerce platforms is preferred.
- CPG, retail, beauty or personal-care experience is beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using performance data to improve content.
- Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Naturally curious, culturally engaged and comfortable working at speed.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $65,000
- exact compensation will be determined based on individual experience
