To serve as the International Student Activities Coordinator for the Global Education Office (GEO). This person will be the primary point of contact for social events and activities for international students and scholars. This person should be energetic, motivated, self-starter, outgoing and highly organized.
Under the supervision of a GEO staff member, this position will be responsible for coordinating social events for international students and scholars including bi-weekly Social Hour events, up-keep of the online event calendar, coordinate performances for the annual UNM International Festival, plan and report on various cultural trips throughout the year.
Tasks include driving the GEO van and co-planning and chaperoning overnight trips, regular event preparation activities such as reserving venues, getting estimates and communicating with service providers in a timely manner, shopping and running errands off campus for the purpose of set-up and take-down of various programs to be held both on and off campus.
The student must enjoy working with a diverse international community; international experience is a plus but not required.
