Overview
At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic staff member to join our Child, Youth, Family & Adult Protective Services (CYFA) Division as a Social Caseworker Manager.
The Family Connections Support Manager leads a team of skilled workers that are ensuring parents have regular family time with their children each week when out-of-home care is necessary. This team provides quality family time supervision for children in out-of-home placement and their parents, works to maintain and build safe, trusting relationships, supports parents in accessing community resources, coaches parents before and after sessions, and helps identify healthy supports. The Family Connections Support Manager position ensures no referrals go unmet by preemptively addressing safety risks and operational hurdles that threaten consistent family time. This position will supervise a team that is composed of full-time and temporary staff. These staff members work directly with children and their parents with open child welfare cases, scheduling and supervising family time, and actively supporting permanency for children. Staff support parents in building confidence and skills in developmentally appropriate, responsive parenting techniques. The Family Connections Support Manager trains, supports, role models, coaches, and supervises the performance of team members, providing regular supervision, clear feedback, and training opportunities to enhance and expand employee skills to effectively engage with parents, understand child developmental stages, utilize the 6 Protective Factors during parenting time, and understand the importance of clearly and accurately documenting the services provided, as well as the significance of assessing for the ongoing safety of each child.
The schedule varies day to day, and this position is expected to work outside regular business hours as needed.
This is a hybrid position and requires at least one day/week in the office. This position may require evening and weekend work as needed by staff during after-hours family times. You must have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides a one-time remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces. You must submit three professional references with valid contact information as part of this application.
