Description

BCforward is seeking a Snowflake Platform Engineer for a fully on-site role in Wilmington, DE. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native data platforms, migration pipelines, and data lake architectures using AWS and Snowflake. Top requirements for the position include 5–6 years of software development and data engineering experience, extensive expertise in Snowflake performance tuning and data modeling, and strong proficiency in Python and AWS data lake services.

Pay and Contract Duration

Pay Rate: $65/hr to $70/hr on W2
Engagement: 6-month contract with opportunity for conversion to a permanent role

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Design, construct, and maintain cloud-native data pipelines, data lake architectures, and orchestration services using AWS, Snowflake, and Python.
Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, optimize Snowflake performance, and build solutions with Snowflake Cortex and Streamlit apps.
Enable secure data movement across analytics and compute services using Spark, Python APIs, AWS CLI, and Boto3.
Implement CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket, Jenkins, and ServiceNow while managing scheduling via Control-M and monitoring with CloudWatch and Splunk.

Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications

5–6 years of dedicated experience in software development and cloud data engineering.
Advanced technical proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, UNIX, Snowflake data modeling, and performance tuning.
Hands-on expertise with AWS data lake services including Lake Formation, Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, Athena, Redshift, and EMR.
Practical experience with Terraform, CI/CD tools (Git/Jenkins/ServiceNow), scheduling (Control-M), and monitoring solutions (Splunk/CloudWatch).
Familiarity with AI agentic workflows, Databricks, MCP servers, or Agile methodologies is preferred.
