Job Description

We are seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Snowflake, SQL, Python, Streamlit, and Power BI and a proven ability to translate ambiguous business problems into maintainable data products, applications, analytics, and automated workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain SQL for applications, reporting, analytics, and workflows.
  • Build Snowflake tables, views, transformations, mappings, and application-supporting data structures.
  • Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data and translate source data into reusable datasets.
  • Perform source-to-target reconciliation, validation, field-level testing, and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Assist with data modeling, relationships, historical data handling, and business definitions.
  • Document lineage, mappings, transformations, dependencies, and application usage.
  • Design and build internal data-driven applications using Streamlit and Snowflake with write-back and workflow capabilities.
  • Implement dashboards, data-entry interfaces, review/approval workflows, exception tools, and administrative utilities.
  • Use Python for data transformation, validation, file processing, Excel automation, document parsing, and business logic.
  • Refactor scripts into reusable components and adopt modular, configuration-driven patterns.
  • Apply application architecture practices including separation of concerns, session/state management, caching, error handling, logging, and role-based access.
  • Optimize queries and troubleshoot performance and concurrency issues across data and application layers.
  • Develop BI and analytics using Power BI, Streamlit, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Excel/Power Query.
  • Modernize spreadsheet, email, and manual processes into structured applications and workflows with audit-friendly data capture.
  • Analyze and integrate data from nCino, Salesforce, loan servicing, underwriting, financial data providers, and internal repositories.
  • Support unstructured-to-structured extraction using Python, OCR/document intelligence, and AI-assisted processing.
  • Leverage semantic models and practical AI where applicable, including Snowflake Cortex and natural-language analytics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Snowflake and Advanced SQL including tables/views, complex joins, CTEs, window functions, transformations, reconciliation, optimization, and security concepts.
  • Python for data manipulation, application development, pandas, file processing, automation, validation, Excel interaction, and modular code.
  • Streamlit application development with multi-page structure, interactive forms, validation, session/state, database interaction, write-back, and reusable components.
  • Data and analytics fundamentals including keys and relationships, data quality, source-to-target mapping, historical data, business metrics, and troubleshooting inconsistent data.
  • Reporting/BI with Power BI or comparable platforms. Experience with Power Query, DAX, and Excel is beneficial.

Preferred Skills:

  • Banking or financial services experience in areas such as credit underwriting, portfolio management, loan monitoring, financial analysis, lending operations, collateral and covenant monitoring, risk management, or structured finance.
  • Exposure to nCino, Salesforce, commercial loan servicing platforms, underwriting systems, document management systems, or financial market/data providers.
  • Experience with Git, VS Code, Snowpark, REST APIs, JSON, Excel automation, and AI/document-intelligence technologies. Candidates need not have deep expertise in every item.
