    Description

    Purpose of the positionLeading a team of SMT engineers and technicians to resolve production issue, perform predictive andpreventative maintenance/analysis to proactively reduce potential machine issues, optimize productionprocess, improve product quality, and ensure efficient manufacturing operations.This role requires extensive end-to-end SMT equipment knowledge and experience in order to solvemachine downtime and issues in a timely manner. The role involves collaborating with cross-functionalteams to drive continuous improvement, resolve technical challenges, and align manufacturing strategieswith organizational goals.Duties and Responsibilities1. Resolve Production Issues• Become the SME for all SMT equipment-related questions and concerns.• Being able to provide technical guidance for RCA/FACA related to production equipment.• Being able to manage the allocated engineering resources in order to support production andmaintenance activities.2. Lead Preventative Maintenance Activities• Manage weekly equipment maintenance activities (Resource, Supplies, etc)• Provide guidance on maintenance activities to ensure preventative maintenance are doneaccording to company’s policies and SOPs.3. Project Planning & Execution• Collaborate with Project team and TPMs to define requirements, technical specs, deliverables,and timelines via cross-functional collaboration.• Identify risks (technical/production/supply chain) and develop mitigation strategies.4. Process Optimization• Analyze production bottlenecks and propose improvements (e.g., automation, processreengineering).• Identify and/or Implement Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects and costs.5. Resource & Cost Control• Allocate resources (human/material/equipment) to meet production/project goal.• Team management and development thru projects/task assigments.6. Quality Assurance & Problem Solving• Lead root-cause analysis (e.g., 8D method, FACA, FMEA etc) for defects and drive correctiveactions.• Address customer feedback/ pass down and coordinate recalls or improvements as needed.7. Innovation & Partnerships• Evaluate new technologies (equipment/materials/processes) for feasibility and impact.• Collaborate with relevant customer’s counterpart (TPM/ Ops/ NPO/ AME) for R&D andinnovation.Education and work experienceEducational Requirements1. Bachelor’s Degree (Can be substituted by proven equivalent work experience)• Engineering disciplines (preferred): Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, IndustrialEngineering, Automation, Engineering Technology, etc.Experience Requirements1. Project Management Experience• Project Leadership: Led or actively participated in 2–3+ technical projects with clear outcomes(e.g., efficiency improvements, cost reduction, process standardization).• Risk Management: Demonstrated ability to identify technical, supply chain, or production risksand develop mitigation plans.4. Technical Experience• Manufacturing Engineering: Knowledge of manufacturing equipment (e.g., Automated TestEquipment, AOI, robotics), production line layout, and parameter optimization (e.g., OEEimprovement).• Data Analysis: Experience using tools (Excel, Python, SQL, BI tools) to analyze manufacturingdata and support decision-making.Supervision• This position has multiple direct reports from engineering team (Engineers and Technicians)Skills• Strong technical and analytical mindset.• Cross-functional communication and collaboration.• Results-driven with a focus on process optimization and problem-solving.• Language Fluent in English, Mandarin or Spanish is a plus.Working conditions• This position will be mostly based inside the Manufacturing Production floor, not an office-basedrole. Continuous presence inside production area is expected.• Fast-paced work environment, must be agile in responding to ever-changing productionrequirement and condition.• Must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies and be available to work non-core hours orovertime to complete various projects without interruption to operations. Expect >40hrs perweek, with Sat/Sun OT requirement depending on business needs.
