SMT Operator I – 2nd Shift
Location: Seymour, CT
Pay: $22.00/hour (Contract) → $24.00/hour after successful 90-day contract period
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

We are currently seeking three SMT Operators for a growing electronics manufacturer in Seymour, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with machine operation experience looking to build a long-term career in electronics manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating manufacturing equipment in a production environment. Electronics or SMT experience is preferred but not required—we are willing to train dependable candidates with strong manufacturing backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Operate SMT production equipment, including pick-and-place machines, screen printers, solder paste inspection systems, and reflow ovens
- Load materials and electronic components into production equipment
- Monitor machine performance and production output
- Perform visual inspections to ensure product quality
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality procedures
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and notify supervisors when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety, quality, and ESD procedures
- Work closely with team members to meet daily production goals
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Manufacturing machine operator experience required
- SMT or electronics manufacturing experience is a strong plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and positive work ethic
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be available to work 2nd Shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) on a consistent basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating SMT equipment
- Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) experience
- Familiarity with printed circuit board (PCB) assembly
- IPC-A-610 certification or related electronics manufacturing training
Compensation & Benefits
- $22.00/hour during the 90-day contract period
- Increase to $24.00/hour upon successful conversion to permanent employment (includes $2.00/hour shift differential)
