Smart Factory Improvement Engineer - Supply Chain Performance (North America)

Summary

This role supports Schneider Electric's Supply Chain Performance team in North America and is responsible for driving continuous improvement through digital transformation. The Smart Factory Improvement Engineer will deploy 4IR technologies, support MES/ERP integration, develop digital competencies, and act as a change agent across manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Lead and support Smart Factory standard catalog tool deployments using IIoT, cloud, mobility, and analytics technologies.
  • Map and optimize processes related to ERP and MES systems.
  • Deploy MES solutions and define ERP-MES data connectivity requirements.
  • Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of digital technologies across sites.
  • Quantify and validate the benefits of digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support digital competency development across facilities.

Regional Subject Matter Expert - LDS / DISS / IoT

  • Provide training, troubleshooting, and guidance for the Lean Digitization System (LDS) and

Digital Idea & SIM System (DISS).

  • Manage enhancement requests and support escalation for proof-of-concept (POC) issues.
  • Define and validate proper IoT architecture based on Schneider Electric standards.

Innovation & Technology Evaluation

  • Identify manufacturing challenges and opportunities for digital improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging 4IR technologies (AR/VR, 5G, AI, etc.).
  • Execute technology proofs‑of‑concept and communicate results to regional and global teams.---

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital transformation and industrial operations.
  • Familiarity with 4IR technologies and their practical application.
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • ERP experience (SAP Bridge & S4 Hana).
  • MES system understanding and application knowledge.
  • Strong self-learning mindset; ability to research and learn independently.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and drive change within manufacturing sites.

Preferred (Bonus) Skills
  • Schneider Electric EcoStruxure platform experience.
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric PLCs and machine control architecture.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with industrial IoT software (Crosser IO, Node-RED, or similar).
