Description

Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a Small Business Development Center Instructor and/or Business Advisor. This is a part-time faculty, union, exempt, and non-benefits-eligible position. We are interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and candidates that may be from a less traditional background. We welcome applicants who bring a diversity of identity, culture, experience, perspective, and thought.

Do you believe that entrepreneurs and small businesses are the foundation of thriving communities? Are you passionate about sharing your business expertise through advising, coaching, mentoring, or teaching aspiring and established entrepreneurs, small business owners, and lifelong learners? Can you create a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel respected, valued, and empowered to succeed? If these questions resonate with you, we invite you to join the Clackamas Community College Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Together, we help entrepreneurs start, grow, and sustain successful businesses while strengthening the economic vitality of the communities we serve.

This part-time faculty pool offers experienced business professionals an opportunity to share their expertise, remain engaged with the regional business community, and make a meaningful difference in the success of local entrepreneurs. Assignments may be especially well suited for current or former business owners, executives, consultants, subject-matter experts, and adult educators seeking flexible, meaningful part-time work. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on program need. Placement into the faculty pool does not guarantee an assignment. Should a review of your application result in the intent to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted by phone or email for an interview.

The Small Business Development Center values professionals who combine practical business expertise with a passion for education, coaching, and community engagement to help entrepreneurs start, grow, and sustain successful businesses. Our team values collaboration, continuous learning, innovation, and a shared commitment to helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals through practical, client-centered service. Successful candidates are selected based on the needs of the SBDC and the expertise they bring to the Center. Candidates are not expected to be qualified for both types of assignments. Assignments will be based on program priorities, demonstrated qualifications, availability, and mutual agreement.

The Clackamas Community College Small Business Development Center is committed to expanding equitable access to entrepreneurial education, business advising, and resources for individuals from all backgrounds. We welcome entrepreneurs representing diverse cultures, lived experiences, industries, and stages of business development. We strongly encourage bilingual and multilingual professionals to apply. Candidates who are fluent in Spanish are especially encouraged to apply as we continue expanding services to Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs throughout our service area.

Compensation for this part-time faculty position is based on the Clackamas Community Colleges Associate and Part-Time Faculty Association salary schedule. All new hires will be placed at Level 1, per our Associate Faculty Bargaining Agreement. Business advising assignments will be paid at Group OP hourly rates, while instruction will be paid at Group 1 hourly rates. Individuals serving in both capacities will be compensated according to the applicable rate for the work performed. Assignments and work hours vary based on program needs, funding, and the successful candidates qualifications and expertise, with anticipated workloads generally not exceeding 20 hours per week. Placement in the faculty pool does not guarantee an assignment or a minimum number of work hours.
