Slitter Operator

The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating slitting machinery and a core cutting bandsaw to ensure efficient production. This role involves machine setup, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Position Summary
The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating slitting machinery and a core cutting bandsaw to ensure efficient production. This role involves machine setup, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up cutting blades in proper size combinations
Load paper rolls into machines using automatic lift systems
Operate an overhead crane to move rolls when needed
Cut carton cores using a core cutting machine
Load winding bars with carton cores
Thread paper through the machine and start operations
Monitor and adjust machine speed and pressure during operation
Complete production logs accurately
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area
Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications & Requirements

Ability to read and use a ruler
Experience driving a clamp truck required
Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 60 minutes at a time)
Ability to lift 2–10 lbs continuously and up to 50 lbs occasionally
Must follow all safety policies and wear required PPE


Work Environment

Indoor, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
Use of required PPE including hearing protection, safety shoes, and eye protection
Minimal safety/health hazards when proper procedures are followed
