We are looking for an experienced Slitter Operator to join a growing aluminum manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with experience in slitting, coil processing, or metal manufacturing who wants steady hours, a consistent schedule, and the opportunity to build a long-term career.

Job Description

As a Slitter Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating slitting equipment used to process aluminum coils to customer specifications.

• Set up and operate slitting equipment to cut aluminum coils to specified widths
• Adjust blades, spacers, tension, and machine speeds based on production requirements
• Load coils onto uncoilers and guide material safely through the slitting equipment
• Operate uncoilers and recoilers and safely remove finished coils
• Inspect finished material for proper width, burr levels, edge quality, and surface condition
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures to verify specifications
• Perform blade changes, lubrication, alignment checks, and routine preventive maintenance
• Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and communicate larger equipment issues to maintenance
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and downtime records
• Follow Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, PPE, and all plant safety procedures

Job Requirements

Ideal candidates will have previous experience with slitting machines, coil-processing equipment, or similar metal-manufacturing machinery.

• Experience working with aluminum, steel, or other metal coils
• Familiarity with slitters, uncoilers, recoilers, tension levelers, or similar equipment
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience
• Ability to read and follow work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Basic math skills, including converting fractions to decimals
• Forklift experience for moving and positioning coils is preferred
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Schedule

Day Shift: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

You'll work a 3-2-2-3 rotating schedule, giving you multiple days off throughout the month while maintaining consistent full-time hours. The schedule includes planned weekends.
