Slitter Operator-DAB

SUMMARY: Incumbent will be responsible for operating slitter presses.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read schedules/reports to disseminate what needs to be slit
• Setup/adjust slitter knives and razor knives
• Monitor material quality during slitting process
• Fill out computerized form of what is slit on a daily basis including lot numbers
• Unload/load trailers
• Empty trash hoppers
• Supply raw material to presses
• Report any unsafe condition(s), injury or accident immediately to production lead or other member of management
• Cross-train in other areas for flexibility to meet production needs
• Perform all other tasks assigned by the supervisor, as needed

Education And/Or Experience: High School diploma or GED or 1-5 years press experience. and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills And Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, and to follow instructions.
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Superior trouble shooting skills
• Strong math skills
• Basic measurement skills (ruler, tape measure, calipers)

• Contact with moving mechanical systems is the norm
