Now hiring for a Slitter Machine Operator

Location: Crystal Lake, IL

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing machine operator experience
  • Minimum 2 years of complex mechanical experience
  • Experience with machine setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting
  • Complex motor vehicle repair experience (personal or professional) may be considered in place of machine operator experience
  • Previous ISO experience in a manufacturing or light industrial environment preferred
  • Previous lamination, packaging, or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not required
  • Willing to learn and train in a manufacturing environment

Job Duties

  • Operate slitting machinery safely and efficiently
  • Perform machine setup and changeovers according to production requirements
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments
  • Measure materials accurately using a standard ruler to 1/16th of an inch
  • Monitor product quality and production output
  • Move and handle large rolls of materials using equipment
  • Follow ISO standards and company quality procedures
  • Complete production documentation and reports as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Slitter Machine Operator.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
