The experienced Project Manager will work with the team to support a State Human Resources organization as part of a larger IT Integration initiative. This consultant will lead project management activities associated with the implementation and deployment of a new recruiting and talent acquisition platform, serving as a critical liaison between State HR stakeholders, technology teams, system integrators, and vendor partners.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned consultant who excels in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, brings strong project governance experience, and can effectively navigate the intersection of business operations, technology delivery, and organizational change.

What You'll Do

The Project Manager provides strategic leadership around stakeholder engagement, readiness, and sustainment. They partner closely with delivery team members and executive sponsors to ensure the implementation transitions successfully from rollout to steady-state operations, delivering measurable outcomes and a sustainable adoption model.

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for the implementation of a new recruiting software solution.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, risk registers, and status reporting.
  • Ensure alignment between recruiting system objectives and broader IT Integration program goals.
  • Monitor project scope, timeline, budget, dependencies, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
  • Facilitate issue resolution and proactive risk mitigation across functional and technical workstreams.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with State HR leadership, recruiting teams, IT leadership, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Build trusted relationships across business and technical stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, decision-making sessions, and executive steering committees.
  • Communicate project status, dependencies, risks, and recommendations to leadership audiences.

Recruiting System Implementation

  • Oversee deployment activities related to a new Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruiting platform.
  • Coordinate requirements validation, configuration reviews, testing activities, training, and production readiness efforts.
  • Ensure integration activities between the recruiting platform and related HR, payroll, identity management, and enterprise systems are appropriately managed.
  • Partner with technical teams to track and resolve implementation issues and integration challenges.

Governance & Reporting

  • Establish and maintain project governance structures and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare executive-ready status reports, dashboards, risk assessments, and project updates.
  • Track key project metrics and milestones and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with established project management standards, policies, and documentation requirements.

Organizational Change & Adoption

  • Collaborate with change management and training teams to support user adoption and organizational readiness.
  • Identify impacts to recruiting processes and coordinate business readiness activities.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, communications planning, and transition-to-operations efforts.
  • Help ensure successful adoption of new recruiting workflows and technologies.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of project management experience, including large-scale technology implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise software deployment projects from initiation through go-live.
  • Experience working with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, recruiting operations, or workforce management functions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups across business and technical organizations.
  • Strong experience with project governance, risk management, issue management, and executive reporting.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops and driving decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing recruiting, talent acquisition, or Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms such as Workday Recruiting, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, iCIMS, Greenhouse, Avature, SmartRecruiters, or similar solutions.
  • Experience supporting public sector, state government, or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with system integration projects involving HR technology ecosystems.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with organizational change management and user adoption strategies.
  • Experience working within large IT modernization or enterprise transformation programs.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the hourly pay range is $82 to $90/HR depending on experience. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
