Summary
This position is responsible for semi-skilled work in a variety of janitorial, landscaping, and repair assignments involving the use of specialized tools and equipment within the city's water and wastewater treatment divisions.

Job Related Physical Requirements
This position involves heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical activity related to this position may require the use of fingers and hands, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to respond to spoken words, to receive and understand information, and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for assembly or fabrication of parts at/or within arm's length, operation of machines or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
Working Conditions
The employee is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold, vibration, noise, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, oils, cutting fluids, and hazards including work around operating machinery, uneven surfaces, and narrow or confined spaces. Employees may be required to wear a respirator or mask during certain circumstances. Employees may be required to work nights, weekends, or during emergency situations when needed.
