    Skateboard Instructor – Job Description

    About Us

    THE SKATESIDE is a skateboarding and roller skating program focused on teaching children skills that build confidence, teamwork, and community. We are seeking an enthusiastic Skateboard Instructor to create positive experiences for kids while upholding our program standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Teaching & Supervision:

    • Lead engaging skateboarding lessons and activities, ensuring high-quality instruction.

    • Supervise and support students during class, prioritizing safety at all times.

    • Assist with setup, gear checks, and maintaining a safe skating environment.

    Scheduling & Coordination:

    • Arrive on time and prepared for lessons/events.

    • Communicate with leadership about availability, scheduling, and any coverage needs.

    • Participate in staff trainings and program events when scheduled.

    Customer & Staff Relations:

    • Foster a welcoming, encouraging, and positive environment for children and families.

    • Communicate with parents professionally and with care.

    • Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to deliver a consistent program experience.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Experience teaching or coaching children.

    • Strong skateboarding knowledge and ability to demonstrate basic to intermediate skills.

    • First Aid & CPR certification (American Red Cross preferred).

    • Outgoing personality and strong communication skills.

    • Patience, adaptability, and reliability.

    Preferred:

    • Coursework or credits in childhood education.

    • Skills in organization, social media, or content creation.

    Position Details

    • Availability: Part-time; weekends required.

    • Compensation: $20/hour + performance-based bonuses.
