Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in Lexington, KY. This role involves assisting the MEP Project Manager in various tasks related to construction management and ensuring successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Assist the MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Develop scopes of work for review and approval by the MEP Project Manager.
- Contribute to the development of the MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
- Prepare estimates for MEP self-performed work and assist in the complete project estimate.
- Coordinate and manage all trades throughout the build process.
- Select qualified bidders and negotiate final prices.
- Prepare various reports, including cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
- Review all drawings and maintain a current set at all times.
- Assist in pricing work, drafting changes, and change orders for review by the MEP Project Manager.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with the project.
- Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
- Schedule work, including subcontractors.
- Track productivity and quantity of subcontractors' installed work.
- Determine materials, equipment, and tools needed and secure appropriate supply sources.
- Set up and close out the construction site.
- Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project and participate in the company's safety portion of the QMS program.
- Procure tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors to prevent delays.
- Consult with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as needed.
- Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance with company, industry standards, and job specifications.
- Ensure the company QMS program is used and maintained according to company standards.
- Generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement.
- Communicate, implement, and enforce the safety program on-site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum of 15 years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
- Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector is highly desired.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
- Strong people management skills.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets, and smartphones.
- Experience with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation, with a passion for collaboration and professional development.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision.

This position requires travel as projects are located throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA but will be required to travel to project sites per the client's travel policy.
