Description

 

The Site Manager drives operational excellence, safety leadership, and financial performance across Cincinnati-area operations. Operating within a 24/7 manufacturing facility, this role directly leads the Chickering production site while providing administrative oversight for the Color Intermediates production site. Leading a site team of approximately 92 employees, the Site Manager directly manages 8 department leaders to foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and customer reliability.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the site team to excellence in EHS performance and manufacturing capability, to meet customer expectations in quality, service, and delivery, with the results of business growth and increased cash generation.
  • Drive a culture where continuous improvement, breakthrough performance, employee engagement, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
  • Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, quality, material management, cost, and equipment reliability. 
  • Develop and implement budget, objectives, personnel plans, inventory management, and capital plans that align with the strategic objectives of the global business.
  • Develop and implement long-term manufacturing and asset strategies to ensure assets are aligned with global business strategy, as well as provide for reliable and flexible product availability while maximizing asset utilization.
  • Represent Sun Chemical through relations with state and local authorities and community outreach.
  • Foster a work environment based on Sun Chemical / DIC values, promote diversity of perspectives, and create a high-performance team across the organization resulting in strong employee satisfaction.
  • Establish and support a safety culture in which all accidents are preventable.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Fifteen (15) years or more of demonstrated managerial leadership experience in chemical manufacturing, including a variety of management positions, required.
  • Plant Manager experience required.
  • Experience in successfully managing both union and non-union teams, with demonstrated ability to positively manage employee relations, improve site culture through employee engagement, and optimize organizational design.
  • Demonstrated track-record of manufacturing achievement in the critical success areas of EHS, quality improvement, cycle time reduction, asset optimization, capital project management, cost reduction, and application of leading-edge methods and technologies.
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with ability to analyze complex technical, operational and financial data, and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence people at all levels in the organization, customers, suppliers and other external contacts, which enables achievement of substantial results through others.
  • Keen ability to focus employees at all levels to recognize the “right thing to do” and empower them to act decisively within their ability and area of responsibility. 
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build strong teams, coach, influence and guide employees, as well as recognize and develop talent throughout the organization.
  • Proven track record for creating continuous improvements in the culture, facilities, and technology at a manufacturing site.
