Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is open to candidates ranging from entry-level machinists with technical training to experienced machinists with setup and programming experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC equipment while producing quality parts that meet customer specifications.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEntry-Level Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
- Load and unload materials and finished parts.
- Perform basic quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and production schedules.
- Monitor machine operations and report issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Intermediate Responsibilities
- Perform machine setups and tool changes.
- Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Make basic machine offsets and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances of finished parts.
- Assist in training new operators.
Skilled Machinist Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC equipment with minimal supervision.
- Edit and optimize CNC programs as needed.
- Troubleshoot complex machining problems.
- Select tooling and determine machining processes.
- Maintain tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Train and mentor entry-level machinists and operators.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
QualificationsEntry-Level
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical school or CNC training preferred.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Skilled Level
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
- Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to perform setups, tooling changes, and offsets.
- CNC programming experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
