Site Civil Staff Engineer

Job Description:

Dewberry is currently seeking a Site/Civil Staff Engineer to serve major public and institutional clients in our Fairfax, Virginia office. This position requires experience in civil design/land development activities including: grading, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water distribution and sanitary sewer design, soil erosion & sediment control and utility design. The selected candidate will become part of a growing team that provides complete, comprehensive site/civil services to a variety of public sector clients.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparation and coordination of site/civil design elements.
• Works closely with team members and the Project Manager to contribute to successful project delivery.
• Mentors entry-level staff and interns in the use of Civil3D.
• Prepares construction documents (including plans and specifications); technical reports; engineering analyses; and cost estimates.
• Executes assigned tasks in accordance with all quality control and assurance procedures.
• Confirms compliance with regulatory requirements and design standards.

Required Skills & Required Experience:

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Civil Infrastructure Projects is required.
• FE required.
• Experience in the preparation of graphics, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
• Strong technical expertise and capabilities in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range:

The projected range for this position is $85,000-$109,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
